The author skillfully introduced Yoruba’s ancient traditions and norms while making the stories interesting for children. The ambition of the author in introducing words and asking for their meanings conveys how familiar he is with the target audience. In doing so, he has easily set an easy goal for the child readers to work towards in each chapter.
Hinting at the previous point, the questions regarding the story at the end of each chapter enable the readers to relate and piece together the story in a simple way. The author manages to communicate universally taught lessons freshly while making the story new and engaging for the readers. The story contains multiple lessons while avoiding overwhelming the readers.
